My team and I redesigned packaging for the Finnish pasta manufacturer Torino and introduced new Finland-inspired flavours. We delivered a new packaging concept that improves storage function and is more prominent on shelves of stores.
Highlight the Finish heritage and sustainability of Torino and introduce new desert pasta flavours. Improve impractical old packaging and offer better storage solution as well as store prominence.
I worked along 3 other designers to deliver the packaging prototypes. My responsibility was the design of the physical box.

Old Torino packaging.
Goal for this project was to redesign the current packaging of the Finnish pasta manufacturer, Torino and introduce different flavours.
The current packaging lacked emphasis on social sustainability and locality of the products. The packaging blended into background and did not visualise ingredients of the different types, shapes, flavours. The material of the packaging also meant that it was impractical to use.

On the Finnish pasta market, Torino is separated from others by it’s use of local ingredients and manufacturing in Finland, near Turku. We saw this as an opportunity step up this localiity aspect one step further. Thus, we created new flavours, inspired by classical Finnish kitchen and ingredients.
From the beginning, it was clear that redesigning the packaging will include a design of a new carton box.
One of the project constraints was a use of carton for packaging. This meant that I would be give a few options of carton thickness, but more importantly lead to use of ArtiosCad, a software for designing the packaging layout and shape.
